COVID Guidelines

COVID Guidelines and Protocols

The safety of all of our registrants and participants for the in-person events of the 2021 Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference is of the utmost importance to the planning team. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, conference attendees will be required to agree to abide by the following guidelines to ensure the safety of all participants. These policies are in line with CDC Guidance. (Please note: The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly changing, and these guidelines are subject to change.)

  • Masks will be required in all indoor settings when not eating or drinking regardless of vaccination status. Face masks may be removed if you are presenting or speaking during an in-person event.
  • If you are not fully vaccinated, you will be required to receive a negative COVID test administered no earlier than 48 hours prior to arrival at the conference. The conference planning committee is relying on the honor system in making this request and appreciates your cooperation to ensure a safe experience for all of us.
  • Testing Results Policy:
  • If the rapid antigen COVID test is negative, attendees can attend the event.
  • If the rapid antigen COVID test is positive, attendees will not be permitted to participate in the event, but can participate in the program virtually.
  • Conference attendees will be subject to temperature screenings at registration.
  • General Health and Safety Guidelines:
  • Please stay home if feeling feverish or coughing prior to the conference.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
  • We encourage attendees to adopt a no-handshake or no-hug policy.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Maintain social distancing when possible.
  • Disinfect personal items such as cell phones and laptops.
  • If onsite and you become feverish or coughing, please stay in your room and notify VAGHC at ghc@dhcd.virginia.gov to report illness. Seek medical attention to obtain a COVID test, and do not return to the event.

As a reminder, the 2021 VAGHC is being offered in a hybrid format, offering both in-person and virtual attendance.

By agreeing to attend in person, you (and your guests) are agreeing to abide by the above guidelines and any instructions from VAGHC staff, contractors, venue staff and federal, state or local public health guidelines.
